Les Enfants Prodiges - Chldren Wonders

The organization Les Enfants Prodiges was born in 1991 when a group of foreigners students met to share their lust for Hip Hop, Soul, Funky and R&B.
At that time, there was a lot of House and Techno music around but a little room for Rap and Hip Hop.

1994 is the year of the "Big Jump"

LEP’s goal has been since the beginning to be a reference for Hip Hop’s aficionados on the wave of what was going on both in New York and Paris. LEP’s first effort was in the early 90s in organizing Hip Hop, R&B and Reggae parties for the French School Chateaubriand. At the same time, LEP and the first Italian Rappers such as Piotta, Turi, Flaminio Maphia met at the Blue Zone in Rome, Via Veneto where LEP was throwing is parties. Few years later, they would be the highest representatives of the Italian Hip Hop scene. In 1994, LEP opened Harlem the first club in town entirely dedicated to Hip Hop, R&B and Funky.

Created on the New York style, Harlem became very soon the get together place for Hip Hop aficionados since in its parties was spinning the latest hits from the US. In 2001 LEP decides to close down Harlem in order to start a much bigger project that involved to bring to Rome the highest international artists. To do so, LEP took part at Black Planet. The project took time to take off since the majority of the artists neglected Italy that was considered to be reluctant towards Hip Hop.

At the beginning, Black Planet invites the highest protagonists of the Italian Hip Hop scene such as Sparo, Colle Der Fomento, Cor Veleno, Fish, Master Freezee and Due Buoni Motivi. The most important Italian Hip Hop Djs just to mention DJ Sidi, DJ Aime, Lady Coco, DJ Steezo and Mr. Phil, started with BlackPlanet.

In the last years LEP was able to bring to Italy the best of the Hip Hop from the world. LEP invited artists of the level of Tony Touch, Kuwait Sane, RZA (one of the founders of Wu Tang Clan and author of the sounds tracks for Jim Jar mush and ‘Kill Bill’ by Tarantino), Cut Killer (author of ‘Hatred’ sound track by Kassowits), the singer and rapper Lumidee, the mythical Africa Bambataataa, not to mention DJ Premiere and Pete Rock. LEP’s most recent effort has been to bring and promote in Italy African and African- European music. Les Nubians, cult duo of this gender, performed in Italy thank to LEP.

After BlackPlanet project, LEP has been addressing its attention to its web-site www.lep-org.com representative of the African music, fashion, movies and culture.

Our Mission

LEP has been on the scene for 15 years by now. It is the oldest, the most innovative and imitated organization in promoting always new ideas and events on the Black music scenario. It is the first and unique organization to bring in Rome DJs of the stature of Tony Touch, Kwait Sane, Cut Killer, DJ Premiere just to mention some of them, not to forget the myth RZA of the Wu Tang Clan and Afrika Bambataataa.

In 2005 LEP started to take care of projects such as the weekly appointments ‘Milkshake’ and ‘ Supreme’. ‘Milkshake’ evening takes place every Thursday at Akab located at Via Montetestaccio 69 and always launched outstanding international DJs. What to say more? In all these years LEP has always guarantied to its public a lot of fun along with a high standard professionalism and ‘supreme’ taste.
